VOLUNTEER COMMENTS "We've had Skinny with all types of dogs and people and he's gotten along with all of them. A forgotten dog waiting in ACC!...Skinny Boy is the champ at holding his business in until he is let outside. I make sure he gets a long walk because he's been there so long. He's friendly and sweet, but is looking for a companion to spring him outta there. Love his two tone facial!"
In-shelter observations indicate that Skinny Boy may be selective about the dogs he interacts with. While appropriate with the helper dog, Skinny Boy is reactive when other dogs walk by his kennel - lunging and barking - and is reported to behave in this same manner when outside with other dogs. Due to these observations, Skinny Boy's behavior has been adjusted to Experience. He will need an experienced adopter willing to address his underlying anxiety around other dogs and keep everyone involved safe and comfortable when other dogs are around. Skinny Boy may do best as the only dog in the home.
2/5 EVALUATION Skinny Boy came into the care center as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. During SAFER he was calm, social, and easy to position, though he also had moments of being nervous and distracted. He displayed very friendly and socially-appropriate behavior with the helper dog.

I am a neutered male brown and white pit bull mix. The shelter thinks I am about 3 YEARS old. Weight 45lb
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 01/30/2014 from NY 10301, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.
