Remember Donovan? I know I'm dating myself, but all I could think of when I was with Exit was the song Mellow Yellow....as that's what describes my new friend, Exit, perfectly. Yellow in color with a thick lush coat, and so mellow in demeanor, Exit (yes, that's his real name) is such a chill boy. Surrendered by his family due to 'allergies', Exit has clearly been well taken care of. His face smiles, his tail wags, he sits when asked to and takes treats gently. His leash manners are outstanding and I could have walked him with my pinky only. He posed for some pictures, not minding being tethered in the park, gave me great big smiles while he kept his soft eyes on the treat in my hand. Off leash in a backyard pen he comes when I call him, tail wagging, eyes sparkling and grinning from ear to adorable ear. At 9 years young, his step his spry, his energy level perfect and he'd like nothing more than a new home in which to spend his golden years. He has a lifetime of love to give his new family and I know that when you meet him he'll leave a pawprint on your heart as he did on mine. If you're looking for a 'chill' companion for easy walks and light conversation, Exit is your man (er...dog). He's neutered, relaxed and ready to start a new life with you. Ask to meet him today

For more information on a particular dog, email adoption @ nycacc.org (remove the spaces) but ONLY email if you are serious about adopting, and ONLY if you are able to GO TO the shelter in-person. Please do not email for status updates... the only thing you will accomplish is spamming their in boxes and causing REAL adopter emails to go un-noticed. Contact the NYC ACC at (212) 788-4000 for further automated instructions. Also, have the ID# listed at the top of this post handy when inquiring!! This dog is in danger of being on the euthanasia list and could be scheduled to be killed at any time! If you cannot adopt foster ! Fostering is free and does not have to be pernament it can be short term but will save a life ..contact a rescue group from the link above for more info about fostering
From The ACC site: To help ensure successful adoptions, please fill out a pre-adoption application (http://www.nycacc.org/pdfs/adoptions/AdoptionApplication.pdf) and bring it with you when you come into the Care Center to adopt a pet. If you are coming from outside of the immediately area, it is strongly suggest that you first complete an application and email it to adoption @ nycacc.org -This will allow ACC to answer any questions and resolve any potential obstacles before you make the trip.
