Mikey's lived in his previous home for nine years with three children under thirteen and other dogs, with whom he shares his kennel. His previous owner states that he is very friendly, and that he gets along with children and strangers. Mikey walks calmly on leash and his previous owners report that he is house trained. He was shy but friendly during the assessment, and tried to stay close to the assessor. Mikey was shy and nervous and trembled during handling, but had soft body language. Mikey had a low body position during the tag test, but followed the assessor at the end of the leash. He did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. Mikey did not show interest in toys but readily gave up his rawhide to the assessor. He did not approach the helper dog.

This dog is located at the Manhattan Animal Care&Control (326 E110 St, Manhattan 10029). For more information on a particular dog, email adoption @ nycacc.org (remove the spaces) but ONLY email if you are serious about adopting, and ONLY if you are able to GO TO the shelter in-person. Please do not email for status updates... the only thing you will accomplish is spamming their in boxes and causing REAL adopter emails to go un-noticed. This dog is in danger of being on the euthanasia list and could be scheduled to be killed at any time!
