Gorgeous gentle great dane pup Scooby in danger@NYC kill shelter in Manhattan, New York

Remember the commercial for Volkswagen in which the door opened and a bunch of people came out? That's how I felt when I opened the door to Scooby's arrival kennel and a tall, lanky, big puppy stepped out! Rock star gorgeous in his brindle coat, he's all legs, floppy ears, smiling eyes and wagging tail. He's likely housetrained, happy to be outside to 'go', and puppy bouncy to the park. His leash manners are good for an excited pup, and it was fun to watch him discover the park. He wanted to say hello to all the people we met, and play bowed to other dogs we passed. Scooby is one happy, friendly boy! He'll sit for a treat which he takes gently, didn't mind being tethered for photos, and jumps up for hugs and kisses. He loves to be petted, joining me on the bench for better access to some hugs and I had to remind him he's not a lap dog. He's a little too thin so needs to fatten up a bit as he grows more which he'll likely do as he has big puppy feet! He's an absolute delight, looking for a family who will provide plenty of exercise and structure and most importantly a lifetime of love. He aced his behavior evaluation earning him immediate placement in adoptions where he's waiting to meet you.
