A volunteer writes: I thought at first that Mookie was a boy until i took her out for a walk and discover how girly she was. Mookie is gorgeous. Her coat is breathtaking, perfectly groomed and shining in the sunlight. It looks like cocoa powder was sprinkled all over her. Her eyes are intense, expressing so many feelings, wary, unhappy, puzzled, happy. She owns a beautiful and sweet smile.She is perfectly sculpted with the right amount of muscles that lets you know that she is healthy and yet a lady. She has been so well cared for by her prior owners who relinquished her to us because of financial strains and no time. Mookie was a bit shy at our first encounter . She is a smart girl and knows very quickly who her friends are. She welcomes staff and other volunteers and is cool with dogs met in the yard through the fence. It must be tough to have been a well cared for pet and then find herself in a kennel without her loved ones. Still, Mookie is trying to make the best of the situation and displays all the good things we want to see in a pooch. She walks very nicely on the leash, sits on command, gives paw and is the greatest lap dog, giving kisses to the perfect stranger. . .There is no way not to fall in love with Mookie, her beauty, her ways, her smile. . .Mookie is at the Manhattan Care Center. Come and meet this precious girl and make her yours, your very own forever best friend.

I am a female tan and white pit bull mix. The shelter thinks I am about 3 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 04/25/2014 from NY 10029, owner surrender reason stated was NO TIME.
This dog is currently in foster care through Manhattan Animal Care&Control (326 E110 St NYC 10029).
