Gentle well mannered border collie Einstein in Manhattan, New York
A volunteer writes: Einstein welcomes me, tail wagging and engaging eyes in his kennel. He is chill, let's me leash him without effort and off we go for a walk around the block. He is an all black Collie, wrapped in a thick and healthy coat that could use a good grooming...and Einstein would be ready for the Wesminster show. He owns gentle eyes that turn even sweeter when I caress him. I love his greying muzzle and his face that seems to come out of a Maurice Sendak fairy tale. Einstein is a very friendly and sociable dog who likes the company of people and, it seems, other dogs too. He did okay in his behavior evaluation at the care center, except that he did show some guarding of his food bowl: an issue that will have to be worked on by his adopter or foster. Einstein walks calmly on the leash, sits on command and takes treats very gently from my hand. He might be housetrained, and does not mark his territory. He is friendly, gentle, affectionate and well-mannered and would make a lovely companion to a owner seeking a calm and low-key companion. Come and meet him soon. Dogs are truly a man's (woman)'s best friend.

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 02/15/2015 from NY 11420, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.
