Billy is a lively young shepard/terrier mix with rabbit ears, slim body, furrowed brow, and chiseled features. He has movie star looks. This youngster also has desires aplenty. He loves to explore and can keep his nose to the ground endlessly. He loves to run and dance and curl himself into a ball as he tries to reach his hindquarters for a good sniff. He loves human contact but is not quite used to the sensation, so his whole body wiggles when touched. But, more than anything, Billy is a ballplayer, excelling as both catcher and fielder. He can toss and fetch without a partner. Give Billy two balls and return much later to find him pouncing and tossing and jumping and enjoying himself without restraint. Billy is a happy go lucky dog, one who can entertain himself easily, who wants to do everything and be everywhere. He is friendly, affectionate, and ready for anything. Billy would make the perfect addition to an active household looking for someone with puppy playfulness mixed with the manners of a more mature dog. He is likely housetrained, and is quiet when left alone. In his kennel he waits patiently for his daily walk and accepts the leash politely. Because he may have some resource guarding issues, Billy would be best placed in an experienced home without young children. But keep in mind, he's a smart boy and a quick learner. With proper exercise and training, Billy's enthusiasm and lust for life (as well as his determination) can be channeled into something great: an agility dog waiting to be discovered, a marathon partner waiting to run alongside his new best friend, or just an all round great companion.

I am a male tan pit bull mix. The shelter thinks I am about 1 YEAR 6 MONTHS old. Weight 55lbs
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 04/12/2013 from NY 10456, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.
This dog is located at the Manhattan Animal Care&Control (326 E110 St, Manhattan 10029). For more information on a particular dog, email adoption @ nycacc.org (remove the spaces) but ONLY email if you are serious about adopting, and ONLY if you are able to GO TO the shelter in-person. Please do not email for status updates... the only thing you will accomplish is spamming their in boxes and causing REAL adopter emails to go un-noticed. Contact the NYC ACC at (212) 788-4000 for further automated instructions. Also, have the ID# listed at the top of this post handy when inquiring!! This dog is in danger of being on the euthanasia list and could be scheduled to be killed at any time! If you absolutely cannot get to the shelter, please contact participating rescue groups listed toward the bottom of the link to see if they can assist you:
