Gosh....I am in love again...Tiny mighty Fudgee is looking up at me from his bottom kennel. His eyes are full of hope, so gentle while so powerful and convincing. I must take him out. Fudgee is a smidget of a dog. He is rather thin and his coat is patchy. Older age, poor nutritional choices, health....Who knows really? He is quite elegant, though and walks very nicely, not minding one big dog and one little dog met on the way. A staff comes to meet us. Fudgee is hesitant at first, a little shy but gives in to her coaxing and welcomes a generous petting session. He is such an endearing little chap. He comes on the lap and in the arms and feels it seems right at home, so comfortable and content he looks. Fudgee and I really hit it off... After I placed him back in his den, he kept eying me ..in silence while I was attending to other pooches. I can only imagine what a wonderful and loving friend he will be to the person who will give him a chance. Fudgee who lived with children and cats was surrendered into our care as his owners could not afford the costs of a pet anymore. He comes with very good recommendations . Fudgee is an adorable mature Chihuahua who dreams to be someone's sweetheart again. Please, do not let him down... He is so worth your love and your care. Fudgee is waiting very patiently at the Manhattan Care Center.

For more information on a particular dog, email adoption @ nycacc.org (remove the spaces) but ONLY email if you are serious about adopting, and ONLY if you are able to GO TO the shelter in-person. Please do not email for status updates... the only thing you will accomplish is spamming their in boxes and causing REAL adopter emails to go un-noticed. Contact the NYC ACC at (212) 788-4000 for further automated instructions. Also, have the ID# listed at the top of this post handy when inquiring!! This dog is in danger of being on the euthanasia list and could be scheduled to be killed at any time! If you absolutely cannot get to the shelter, please contact participating rescue groups listed toward the bottom of the link to see if they can assist you:
