A volunteer writes: Candy is a happy youngster, full of sparkling cheer. Dressed in a beautiful brindle coat highlighted by swirls of dark, rich chocolate, she's the star of the current doggie playgroup at the Care Center. Not only is she charming, but she dazzles other pups with her style and élan! At the park, she is a curious youngster, striding along nicely with a whimsical bounce to her step - until an errant squirrel crosses our path and then we're off on a quick (and thankfully short) chase! Found tied to a pole, Candy's past is a mystery, but her good grooming and nice manners suggest she was recently someone's cherished companion. She sits ever so nicely for treats! So, if your idea of a great pet is an active and intelligent youngster with loads of potential, hurry on down to the Care Center. Adopting Candy will enhance your life with an indescribable wonderfulness!

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 09/30/2014 from NY 10459, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

From The ACC site: To help ensure successful adoptions, please fill out a pre-adoption application (http://www.nycacc.org/pdfs/adoptions/AdoptionApplication.pdf) and bring it with you when you come into the Care Center to adopt a pet. If you are coming from outside of the immediately area, it is strongly suggest that you first complete an application and email it to adoption @ nycacc.org -This will allow ACC to answer any questions and resolve any potential obstacles before you make the trip.
